How Payments are and how they are defined by PIS/PASEP in 2023

PIS/PASEP is a salary supplement program for Brazilian workers, financed by the Federal Government. Its allocation comes from 1971, being one of the forms of aid that work, and from the date of 2023 there will be adjustments in the selection of who may be entitled to its benefit.

The definition of the 2023 dates concerns the minimum contribution of at least 09 (nine) calendar months within the 12 (twelve) months preceding the reference month to obtain the right to the benefit. This is one of the requirements protected by the INSS – National Institute of Social Security.

It is worth mentioning that, as previously mentioned, to be entitled to the 2023 PIS/PASEP, it is necessary to have worked for at least 9 months, but a contribution must also have been made within that period.

This means that, in order to exercise their right, it is obligatorily necessary for the worker to have contributed during all the reference months to the INSS.

To do so, you should check on the Caixa Econômica Federal website which are the reference days for the 2023 benefit. In them, you can inform the reference events in which contributions should be made.

In addition, it is also necessary to have access to the number of contributions in the selected period.
