O Bolsa Familia it is the new social program of the Federal Government that will start in 2023. The program will return by the hands of the new President Lula. It integrates public policies for social assistance, health, education, employment and income.

It was created to assist people in extreme poverty and families in poverty. These families must contain at least one pregnant woman or people aged up to 21 years old.

Program benefits

It is estimated that more than 17 million families will be served by the end of December. The program help Brazil consists of the following benefits:

  • Early Childhood: Intended for families with children from zero to 36 months, it will be paid monthly, in the amount of R$130.00 per member, with a limit of five people;
  • Family Composition: For families with pregnant women or people between the ages of three and 21, it will be paid monthly, in the amount of R$65.00 per member, up to a limit of five benefits per family;
  • Overcoming Extreme Poverty: For families whose family income per person, calculated after adding the benefits above, is equal to or less than the extreme poverty line (R$100).

Those who were already registered with the Bolsa Família receive the Auxilio Brasil automatically. That is, nothing changes, the cards and passwords you used in Bolsa Família continue to be used in the new program until new ones are issued.

The forms of withdrawal also remain the same, they are: Caixa Tem application, self-service terminals, lottery outlets, Caixa Aqui, and Caixa branches. 

It is important to make it clear, however, that it is not a continuation of emergency aid. They are different programs, and emergency aid ended in October 2021.

How to apply?

If you do not have Bolsa Família, but want to register, know that those who are entitled are:

  • Extremely poor families with family income of up to R$ 100.00;
  • Families in poverty with an income of R$ 100.01 to R$ 200.00; 
  • Pregnant women, mothers who are still breastfeeding, children, adolescents and young people between 0 and 21 years old. 

Before registering on aid Brazil you and your family must be enrolled in the Cadastro Único Program, this is one of the prerequisites to receive. In addition, the registration data of family members must have been updated in the last 2 years. 

If your family meets the requirements but is not enrolled in CadÚnico, look for the person responsible for the program at the CRAS in your city. So you can register correctly.

Brazil Aid Calendar

As of Friday (10/12) the program starts a new round of payments. It is in the second phase and may have the value readjusted to R$400.00 if the PEC of the Precatorios is approved.

Payment for the first phase was up to 11/30 at an average amount of R$217.18. According to the Ministry of Citizenship, payments for the month of December will be between the 10th and the 23rd, due to the end of year festivities. 

To know the payment order, you must follow the final NIS number:

  • December 10: Finals of NIS 1;
  • December 13: Final of NIS 2;
  • December 14: Finals of NIS 3;
  • December 15: Final of NIS 4;
  • December 16: Final of NIS 5;
  • December 17: Finals of NIS 6;
  • December 20: Final of NIS 7;
  • December 21: Final of NIS 8;
  • December 22: Final of NIS 9;
  • December 23: End of NIS 0.

Considerations about the Brazil Aid
