What is Single Registration?

Several low-income families experience difficulties at the end of the month for various reasons, usually unemployment. This makes it difficult to access various services that are essential for a good quality of life.

Announcement

The program Single Registry (CadÚnico) is a form of registration that the government uses to learn more about low-income families in the country. Who created the program was the Federal Government, but those who operate and update the information are the city halls.

When you have your registration updated in CadÚnico, you can try to enroll in several other social programs. Everyone has their criteria, but the first is always to have the CadÚnico.

Programs that use CadÚnico

The main advantage of Single Registry, is that it is through it that it becomes possible to register in other social programs. These programs can be a great help.

See now some of the programs that use CadÚnico:

Brazil Aid Program (formerly Bolsa Familia)

A replacement for Bolsa Família since November 2021, Auxilio Brasil is an income transfer program for families in poverty and extreme poverty.

The Program is managed by the Ministry of Citizenship and Caixa Econômica is responsible for making payments to families selected by the Ministry of Citizenship.

Electric Energy Social Tariff Program

The Electric Energy Social Tariff was created in 2002, through which discounts are granted to consumers who are included in the low-income residential subclass.

These beneficiaries gain exemption from the CDE (Energy Development Account) and PROINFA (Incentive Program for Alternative Electric Energy Sources).

Young ID

Youth Identity is the document that allows access to half-price benefits to young Brazilians between 15 and 29 years old.

Through it you have access to artistic, cultural, sports events and also free or discounted places on trips between different states of Brazil.

Who can apply?

If you are not sure whether or not you are registered, you can check on the meucadunico website or through the application.

Your family can apply to Single Registry if:

  • She has monthly income per person of up to half salary R$ 522.50;
  • If the monthly family income is up to three salaries R$ 3,135.00;
  • If the income is above the amounts already mentioned, but which are linked to a benefit that uses CadÚnico;
  • If you are a homeless person or family;
  • A person who, despite not being in the situations presented, needs to register to receive a service that requests this.

Step by step to enroll in the program

If you are interested and want to enroll in the program, it is important to know that it is not possible to do this over the internet.

It is necessary to go to the sector responsible for the Single Registry in your city to register, usually the CRAS (Social Assistance Reference Center) or look for the City Hall.

Here are some things you should know to register for the Single Registry:

  • It is not necessary for the whole family to attend. It is only necessary that the person be over 16 years old;
  • The person who presents the documents in the interview will be called Responsible for the Family Unit (RF) in the CadÚnico;
  • The RF must present at least the CPF or Voter ID of each family member.

In case of lack of any document, it is the obligation of the city hall to register. However, your registration will be incomplete and therefore you will not be able to try the other social programs. Therefore submit the other documents as soon as possible.

Documents that are not mandatory, but that help in the process:

  • Proof of address, such as an electricity bill;
  • Proof of school enrollment for young people up to 17 years old. If you do not have proof, take the name of the school of each child or young person;
  • Work Card.
